252 East 57th Street is located between Second and Third Ave in Manhattan’s Sutton Place neighborhood. Construction began on this residential skyscraper in 2013 and reached completion in 2016 after topping out at 715 ft. UBS began constructing shed and installing hoists in January of 2014. This job sported three sidewalk bridges throughout the site. One sidewalk bridge on 56th street ran 16 ft high and a 130 ft long with two high sections and truck gates. The sidewalk bridge on 57th street also ran 16 ft high and a 130 ft long but included three high sections and truck gates. The Second Ave sidewalk bridge ran 16 ft high and 200 ft long with one high section and truck gate. Three separate hoists were installed during construction: two 7,000 lb-capacity dual high rise hoists on a common platform and a 7,000 lb—capacity single below grade hoist. The first dual high rise hoist serviced from the cellar up to the 57th floor, covering 667 ft. The second dual high rise serviced from the ground floor up to the 57th floor, covering 650 ft. The single below grade hoist serviced from the ground floor down to the sub-cellar, covering 40 ft.
