606 West 57th street

606 West 57th street is a massive multi-purpose complex located in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Construction began on site in 2016 and was completed in October 2018. During that time, UBS provided shed construction and hoist installation on site. Shed construction started in April 2016 and consisted of three large sidewalk bridges around the site. The first sidewalk bridge was put up along West 57th street and was 410 ft long and 8 ft high. Another sidewalk bridge was put up along 11th Ave and was 170 ft long and 8 ft high. The last sidewalk bridge was put up along West 56th street and was 140 ft long and 16 ft high. All the sidewalk bridges had 8ft high plywood fencing along the interior. Hoist installation also began in April 2016 and consisted of 3 separate hoist complexes. The north hoist complex was an 8,500 lb. capacity dual hoist, servicing the ground to the 18th floor, covering 185 feet in total. The south hoist complex consisted of one dual hoist and a separate single hoist. The 7,000 lb. capacity dual hoist serviced from the ground floor up to the 43rd floor where the building topped out, covering 435 ft. A separate 7,000 lb. capacity single hoist serviced from the sub-cellar to the 28th floor, totaling 300 ft.
