Avalon Sheepshead Bay

Located in Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay neighborhood, 1501 Voorhies Ave is the address for the Avalon Bay Residential Tower. Construction began on the Avalon Bay in 2016 and was completed in 2017 after topping out at 30 floors. During this time, UBS provided cocoon protection on the building as perimeter protection during the concrete construction. The vertical netting was initially installed on the 3rd floor and 4th floors, with the final ties, made just past the building’s main roof, covering a height of 286 ft. The UBS Cocoon was installed on all building elevations, with allowances made for concrete walls, lifting platforms, and temporary personnel and material hoists.
