Greenpoint Landing

Greenpoint Landing is a mega project in Brooklyn’s northernmost neighborhood, Greenpoint. The first tower to rise in the development was a residential building located at One Blue Slip. Construction began in 2016 and reached completion in 2018 after topping out at 30 floors. During this time UBS provided cocoon protection on the building as perimeter protection during the concrete construction. Up to 430 LF of vertical netting was installed around the building, with initial installation being made on the 5th and 6th floor of the north, west, and south elevations of the building. Initial installation for the east elevation was made at the 10th and 11th floor and final ties were made at the 30th floor. The UBS cocoon system was made on all building elevations, with allowances made for concrete walls, lifting platforms, and temporary personnel and material hoists.
