The Alexander At Rego Center

Located on the corner of Junction Blvd and 62nd Drive in Queens’ Rego Park neighborhood, The Alexander was built above the Rego Center shopping mall. Construction began on this residential building in 2014 and was completed in 2015 after topping out at 26 floors. During that time UBS provided cocoon protection on the building as perimeter protection during the concrete construction. Up to 485 LF of vertical protection was installed around the building, with initial installation beginning on the 5th and 6th floor and final ties were made on the 23rd floor. The UBS cocoon system was installed on all building elevations, with allowances made for concrete walls, lifting platforms, and temporary personnel and material hoists.
