The Spiral
66 Hudson Boulevard East, New York, NY, USA
Located at 66 Hudson Blvd, the Spiral is a supertall skyscraper that is currently under construction in Hudson Yards. Construction began in the northernmost tower in phase one of Hudson Yards back in 2018. Upon completion the Spiral will top out at 66 floors and 1,031 ft, making the commercial building one of the largest skyscrapers in the city. UBS began the installation of four separate hoist tower complexes at the Spiral back in March of 2019. The first is the south hoist complex which consists of two dual hoists, both running 7,000 lb. cars and one twin mast hoist with 13,500 lb. capacity. These hoists will run from the ground floor up to the roof covering 975 ft of service. The second hoist complex is an interior hoist. This hoist runs a single personnel and material car from the ground floor to the cellar and covers 30 ft of service. The third hoist complex is an interior hoist that runs a single 7,000 lb. car. This hoist runs from the 7th floor to the 64th floor covering 800 ft of service. Finally, the north hoist complex consists of three dual hoist towers, all running 7,000 lb. hoist cars from the ground floor up to the roof. All of these hoists will cover 975 ft of service.
